Catholic School Suspends 5 Class Presidents Who Refused to Join Rally

A Catholic school in Manila is expected to face multiple counts of legal complaints after the parents of five students planned to the school for grave violation of students rights.
The media was instructed by authorities not to reveal the name of the school due to legal issues.
The school, which is managed by Catholic nuns, caught controversy last year, when it uses young students to protest against the then presidential candidate Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
Before the September 21 rally, the said school was among the other four Catholic schools who threatened to “discipline” their students if the latter refuse to join the anti-Martial Law and anti-Duterte rally.

Five class presidents from the said school chose to stay at their homes on September 21, which angered the school officials according to the police brief distributed to media.
The report said the parents of the five students will file charges against the school on Monday.
One of the parents, a corporate lawyer, said he is determined to file charges against the school’s officials following the “unreasonable and irresponsible policy”. /Jade De Vera/
