De La Salle University History Professor Van Ybiernas on Tuesday published a Facebook post scrutinizing Senator Risa Hontiveros for her ignorance on certain socio-political issues concerning our country. In the said post, Professor Ybiernas emphasized that there is a great ideological difference between people of Hontiveros' ilk who were raised comfortably in a rich and wealthy family as compared to those who have been victims of poverty and were basically underprivileged.
"Ang hindi maunawaan ng mga kagaya ni Risa Hontiveros ay ito: iba ang Pilipinas na nakikita ng mag mayaman at anak-mayaman sa binisita niyang St. Scholastica's College at sa Pilipinas na tinirhan ng mag ordinaryong Pilipino, kahit ng mag millenials na inaangkin niyang kapanalig niya," Ybiernas claimed.
Ybiernas furthered his speculation by giving sarcastic remarks addressed to the rich yet "ignorant" individuals who were not able to experience the struggles and perils faced by poor Filipino citizens.
"Ang mga Pilipinong ito ang nakatira sa mga lugar na dati-rati'y pinamumugaran ng mga adik. Alam ng bayan ito… Hindi yan alam ng mga mayaman at anak-mayaman, kashe, uhmmmm, wala namang adik sa condo namin eh, di ba?! Wala rin sa village namin, kaya!" Ybiernas wrote.
Ybiernas then criticized Hontiveros' for patronizing elite schools over public ones. According to Ybiernas, Hontiveros should try to engage more with the masses especially among public schools, in order to understand how faulty her previous statements and actions were.
"Ayun, sa St. Scho pumunta si rita, hindi sa mga sangkatutak na P.Gomez/Burgos/Zamora ellementary schools sa bansa; hindi sa Quezon, Osmena, Roxas, Laurel, Magsaysay elementary schools ng bansa… Dun ka magpunta, tita, at doon mo sabihin ang mga sinabi mo sa mga kulasa!" he further wrote.
Also in the same post, Professor Ybiernas acknowledge the consistent high approval/satisfaction rating of President Rodrigo Duterte which remains unaffected by the attacks redundantly fired against him b Hontiveros.
"Paulit-ulit na ang dialogue na ito ng mag kagaya ni Hontiveros, wala naman naniniwala sa kanya. Hahahahha. 80+% pa rin naman ang approval/trust/popularity numbers ng pangulo."
Ybiernas also stated the "hardheadedness" of Hontiveros and Trillanes who, despite the clarifications and explanations, still believes that the presidents high rating is caused by some "unknown" propaganda.
"Akala kasi ni Hontiveros at Trillanes na propaganda ang pinanggagalingan ng 80+% na ito… Kaso kahit anong paliwanag mo sa mga tito't titang ito… hindi talaga e. Propaganda pa rin daw e!" stated the DLSU Professor.
He added, "Ewan ko kung sino talaga ang totoong bumalibanat ng sangkatutak na Fentanyl."
