Laughing stock of a president

Laughing stock of a president

Good grief! Noynoy is really making a fool of himself and proving to international lawmakers how unfit he is to be the President of the Republic.

A news report stated that, during the meeting with US Sen. John McCain and his group, Noynoy briefed the US senators on the “hot thing” in the news, which wasthe impeachment of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Quoting the presidential spokesman, Edwin Lacierda said that Noynoy “had a good discussion” Tuesday inthe Palace with the US senators, covering bilateral concerns and issues internal to the Philippines, such as the ongoing trial in the country against the Supreme Court CJ.

Asked why Philippine internal affairs were even broached by Noynoy, there went Lacierda, saying that this impeachment trial of Corona is “the hot issue going on right now.”

Omigod! The one thing that one can say about Lacierda is that he is just as unfit as his boss, Noynoy, serving as presidential spokesman.

What a dumb thing to do and say to US and other foreign diplomats. Why should a President of theRepublic even bring up this impeachment issue with the US senators, even if it is the “hot issue” in the country, when this is internal to the Philippines, and has nothing to do with foreigners and especially the US senators?

Noynoy has made a big fool of himself by even bringing this issue to them. In the first place, as McCain himself said, they do not interfere in the internal affairs of a foreign government.

In the second place, as US senators, they certainly know that the executive department should not, and does not interfere with the Senate nor the House, especially in matters of impeaching an impeachable officer.

In the third place, Noynoy, the unfit Chief Executive that he is, only proved to the high court, which translates to his disrespect for the separation of powers and principles.

Fourth, Noynoy has also proved that he does not even know, despite his being in the presidential office for close to two years, that he should not even be broaching any internal to the country issue before foreign dignitaries. It’s just not done!

And fifth, Noynoy and his mouthpiece’s stupidity also proves that, despite the many problems facing thecountry, whose economy has gone on a downward trajectory, his focus remains, not on these problems but on his vindictiveness against his perceived political foes, to the point of abusing executive power and transforming the House of Representatives as his rubber stamp, along with his obsession to control thehigh court and the entire judiciary.

But perhaps, the fool that Noynoy is, he may have thought that he would be impressing the US senators by bringing up the impeachment trial of CJ Corona and his claimed campaign to weed out corruption through his claimed straight path.

Or perhaps, Noynoy thought that, by bringing up theinternal issue of impeaching the CJ and having a full-blown trial in the Senate would be an “impressive feat” of his to brag about to the US senators, which would then make him a “hero” in the eyes of the American government.

It wouldn’t be past Noynoy to brag to the foreign dignitaries that it was he who had made the impeachment of a Philippine SC Chief Justice possible.

Or perhaps, he even believes that through this impeachment trial, he has even done better than a late US president, who wanted to control the US Supreme Court but failed.

Whatever he thought, in bringing up this internal issue before the US Senate, hot or not, just made him the biggest laughing stock of a president!
